ƒ8.07 P.S.I.S 187

I’ve been using a Canon 24 mm tilt shift lens lately, and I’m wondering and surprised at how I long I lasted without it – I love being able to shift! What a great addition to an architectural photographer’s camera bag.

Over the weekend, I went out and captured these pictures of P.S.I.S 187. Do you know what this building is used for by just looking at these pictures? If you said “prison,” I would have to admit that that was my first thought too. What else do those window gates suggest – once you’re in you’ll never get out!

In reality, it is a very popular and much desired elementary / middle school in Washington Heights. It just goes to show you that the old saying “never judge a book by it’s cover” rings true here.
