As a professional hotel photographer, each project brings a unique set of challenges and creative opportunities. My recent assignment to capture the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Corpus Christi, TX, was no exception. This was a fast-paced project, yet one that underscored the critical role photography plays in the hospitality industry.
The Assignment
This shoot had a clear goal: create a set of 12 high-quality images to populate the property’s online travel agency (OTA) carousels. These carousels are the hotel’s digital front door, making it essential to produce images that not only meet industry standards but also highlight the property’s best features.
The Homewood Suites in Corpus Christi offers a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for extended stays. With its blend of modern design and Texan hospitality, the property presented an opportunity to highlight a mix of inviting common areas, well-appointed suites, and functional amenities. Each image needed to reflect these elements while maintaining the consistent branding expected by Hilton and Highgate, the property’s management group.
Working with Dragonfly Image Partners
The production team at Dragonfly Image Partners brought their expertise and attention to detail to the project, ensuring the shoot went smoothly from start to finish. Their coordination and clear communication allowed me to focus on what I do best—capturing the heart of the space through my lens.
Together, we worked to ensure every image aligned with OTA requirements while telling the story of the Homewood Suites. From well-lit suite interiors to the cozy communal spaces, we created visuals that will resonate with potential guests browsing online.
Key Highlights
•Efficient Execution: Despite the quick turnaround, we maintained a focus on quality and composition.
•Strategic Imagery: Each shot was planned to showcase features like the spacious suites, inviting lobby, and fitness center, catering to the expectations of both leisure and business travelers.
•OTA Standards Compliance: Every photograph met the technical and stylistic requirements for travel platforms like Expedia and Booking.com.
Why High-Quality Hotel Photography Matters
First impressions are everything in the hospitality industry. In a world where guests often book their stays entirely online, the right photographs can be the difference between a click-through and a missed opportunity. As a hotel photographer, I focus on creating images that capture not just the space but the experience a guest can expect.
For this project, the imagery needed to convey the warmth, comfort, and practicality that make Homewood Suites an ideal choice for travelers visiting Corpus Christi. High-quality visuals help properties like this stand out in competitive markets, driving higher bookings and guest satisfaction.
